Early education can be critical because of the amount of learning that takes place in the preschool years. The Lexington ISD Preschool Program for Children with Disabilities provides services for children ages three –five.

Children with identified physical, mental, perceptual, speech, language, social, and/or hearing problems and may be eligible for the program at age three. Children with vision and /or hearing problems may be eligible at birth.

Lexington ISD uses information from a variety of source to determine eligibility according to the Texas Education Agency Guidelines.

The services provided for all students are developed by the Admission, Review, and Dismissal Committee (ARD). This committee typically consists of the child’s parents, an educator, and administrator, and someone involved with the testing. Each child’s program is individualized to meet the child’s needs.

If you are aware of a child who is suspected of having a disability, please contact the Special Programs Director @ 979-773-2254
